Hungry Babies Project

Porridge and Pens have had a long standing partnership with the Mother Theresa Orphanage in Kumasi, since 2009.

The Porridge and Pens team have always sent donations of baby clothes and toys to the orphanage and lots of the team have spent time volunteering at the orphanage whilst always wishing we could do more to help.

We are now able to do a little something to help the many children at the Mother Theresa Orphanage.

Mabel, the receiver of our first Educational Grant, volunteers every Saturday at the orphanage and she has relayed to us there are several babies currently at the orphanage but the sisters do not have enough funds to feed them.  The babies are currently being fed less than half the amount of formula powder required and are therefore hungry and are quickly becoming malnourished.

It costs the charity £60 per month for Mabel to buy enough formula to donate so the babies can be fed the correct amount.

OUR DONATIONS

We use Donation Manager to handle our donations so we pay less in bank charges and receive more of your donations. We can accept donations via Paypal and most credit cards. If you're a UK taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donations  so we receive an extra 25p for every £1 you give us.

We are so fortunate to have amazing supporters that fundraise for Porridge and Pens. Lucy Weaver has been raising money for charity over the last few months and we were honoured to be chosen as the recipient of money raised from a treasure hunt around her home town. That money will go so far in Ghana and we look forward to updating her with the good work her fundraising efforts has been able to achieve. Lucy Rosina 🙏🏻 Thank you so much. ... See MoreSee Less
