What We Do

What we do

Porridge and Pens works with some of the most disadvantaged children and young adults in Ghana. We do this by providing access to free education, safe shelter and school meals so young people can create their own bright and sustainable futures, free from poverty.

Porridge and Pens believe every child in Ghana should have an equal chance to achieve their full potential. Our work is delivered through our two long standing projects; Girl Power and The Brightlingsea Academy, which make measurable differences to 650 lives each day.

Our vision and mission

Our vision is for every child in Ghana to have an equal chance to achieve their potential and be free from poverty.

Our mission is to provide children and young adults in Ghana with a free education, access to two meals each day and safe shelter, so that young people can create their own bright futures, free from poverty.

Our Projects

Porridge and Pens has two projects that help over 300 of the poorest children in Kumasi, Ghana, everyday.

The Brightlingsea Academy was established in 2016.
2018 saw the introduction of Girl Power.
