Ride for Change – 24 Hours, Two Continents, One Mission. We believe education should be a right, not a privilege. Yet, for so many young women in Ghana, barriers like poverty, lack of resources, and systemic challenges make that dream difficult to achieve. That’s why we’re taking action—with every pedal stroke.
This June, for two days, across two continents, Porridge and Pens UK will cycle alongside our incredible Girl Power students in Ghana to raise funds for education and school meals. We will be using two home exercise bikes, one at our Girl Power Centre in Kumasi, Ghana and one from sunny Brightlingsea in Essex.
Event Date: June 21st (Saturday) – 6 AM to 6 PM (UK time) June 22nd (Sunday) – 6 AM to 6 PM (UK time)
Where: Livestream from Ghana & UK
But this challenge is about more than fundraising—it’s about building connections and sharing ideas across borders. As we ride, we hope to bring some of the fundraising strategies that have worked in the UK to our Ghana teams!
Join us on Zoom! Anyone who wants to Zoom in with us can ask questions, meet our team in Ghana, and share words of encouragement. (Although fair warning—we might be a little out of breath!)
